There’s something undeniably magical about a wedding along NYC waterfront, especially when it is held at a venue like Celestine. Nestled along the waterfront in DUMBO, the restaurant venue offers sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline and East River, setting the stage for a celebration that feels both intimate and expansive!
Calvin and Deborah got ready together at the One Hotel nearby early in the day. I LOVE when couples get together because it leaves more room for naturally intimate moments. Following getting ready, we explored along the waterfront to get photos at a bunch of iconic spots including the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges, the Timeout Market and Jane’s Carousel. It’s really a dream location for wedding day portraits!
The ceremony took place in the courtyard at Celestines that overlooks the Manhattan bridge, creating a natural backdrop that needed little embellishment. They kept décor light and organic—playful colors whimsical florals by Jura Floral, and textures that complemented the airy feel of the space rather than competing with it.
Celestine’s Mediterranean-inspired menu was perfect for the occasion: fresh, vibrant, and ideal for daytime dining. Guests enjoyed a leisurely multi-course experience, complete with seasonal dishes, bright flavors, and plenty of wine flowing freely. I love family style meal sharing at weddings, the photos are always so lively!
Instead of a dance floor, guests mingled, sipped cocktails, and took in the view. It was the kind of ending that felt natural—no rush, no pressure, just a gentle close to a beautiful day. I photographed this day with a mix of digital and 35mm film which really made the photos feel like instant classics! Feel like your vibe? Let’s chat wedding photography today!
